Project Overview

CGE Africa implemented a national advocacy and alliance-building initiative that amplified women’s voices and leadership in Nigeria’s food security discourse. Through regional participatory hearings, media engagement, and a National Women’s Summit on Food Insecurity, the project brought together women farmers, women-led civil society organizations, policymakers, and other stakeholders to document lived experiences, showcase women-led adaptation and agroecological solutions, and advance gender-responsive food security priorities. The initiative strengthened alliances, elevated women’s perspectives in policy dialogue, and reinforced institutional accountability for women’s food security rights.
