Gender Responsive Budgeting for Gender-Based Violence Prevention Project.

Gender Responsive Budgeting for Gender-Based Violence Prevention and Mitigation in Cross River State Nigeria (2023 – 2025) With funding support from African Women’s Development Fund AWDF.

The project GRB4GBV in Calabar,Cross River State was initiated to address the issues of a gender non-transformative budgeting process imperative for decreasing Gender Based Violence (GBV) in Calabar, Nigeria. Budgets at all levels are gender-blind; they ensure that one-half of society keeps being marginalized. Therefore, there are enormous challenges faced by stakeholders in finding funds intended to address SGBV violence.

The objectives of the project aimed at the Government in Cross River state and beyond implementing laws and policies to respond to Gender Based Violence and that there is budgeting allocation for GBV response, there is also an increased number of survivors accessing SARC (Sexual Assault Referral Centre’s) in cross River.
