Socio-Economic Inclusion Project for Older Women

Promoting Socio-Economic Inclusion of Older Women through Well-being parties in MAIYEGUN and ITEDO Communities, Lagos State. (2019-2024)
With funding support from Global Affairs Canada through ActionAid Nigeria.

In 2022, we sustained the Senior Women’s Association, fostering social networking and discussions on well-being. Wellbeing Parties and a Toolkit were implemented, addressing various aspects of well-being. Community mobilizers and Party Hostesses were trained for independent facilitation. We investigated gender-based ageism in Nigeria, publishing findings and producing a myth-dispelling mini-documentary titled ‘Still Hurts.’ This project has transformed older women’s lives in Maiyegun and Itedo Communities, fostering health, connectivity, and sustainability through empowered community leaders.
