Project Overview

CGE Africa, in partnership with the Dew-Drop Foundation (DDF), implemented this initiative across 11 communities in Enugu State to address elder abuse and strengthen the voice, agency, and protection of older persons. Through research, community sensitization, safe spaces, and the training of community mobilizers, the project challenged harmful attitudes and practices and created platforms for older persons to share their experiences and advocate for improved care and protection. The initiative reached more than 1,000 older persons, strengthened community-level awareness and advocacy, and generated evidence to support policy and practice reforms that advance the dignity, rights, and well-being of older persons.
