Promoting Socio-Economic Inclusion of Older Women through Well-being Parties in Maiyegun and Itedo Communities, Lagos State

CGE Africa established and strengthened Senior Women’s Associations as community platforms for social connection, well-being, and collective action among older women. Through its innovative Well-being Parties, community facilitator training, and a practical toolkit, the initiative strengthened local ownership and the sustainability of activities. CGE Africa also generated evidence on gender-based ageism in Nigeria and produced the mini-documentary Still Hurts to challenge harmful stereotypes and raise public awareness of the experiences and rights of older women.
